I would use a multimeter (cheap from DIY shop) to test the wires. if they are live, I'd trace them back to either the fuse box or where they join the ring main, then disconnect them at that point (power off at fusebox). no way would I leave them untested or live! They may join inside the socket you mention.

Sure, I've heard lots of songs with nothing but acoustic guitar, so all of those other instruments are like icing on the cake. With your limited setup, you probably wouldn't want to use more than one or two instruments per song. You might want to look around for a cheap or free digital audio program so you can record on your computer. That would allow you to overdub more parts without losing quality.

I've been in this terrible marriage for 9 1/2 years, no kids. We're in our mid-30s now. My husband tells everyone that I will "never leave him" because "I need him". I need a full time job and I put zillions of applications this past month and nobody called yet. I am getting so desperate now. I need to find me an apartment (studio be fine), and a small used car so I can get on with my life. I don't even know how to start! I don't have family members in the U.S. (yes, I am a U.S. citizen) to help me. Everything we have is in his name, car and mortgage and bills. We only have 1 joint bank account, but I also have 1 bank account alone to put my money away. This seems like a never ending problem, I tried counseling, he didn't care about it, I tried everything, to work out the problems, no communication, lies and lies, bunch of money spending, etc. So I'm fed up and I'm ready to move on with my life. Volunteer in mental facilities / hospitals?
I don't think mental hospitals are looking for volunteers to help with the most difficult cases but as funding for mental health services is cut again and again by our enlightened legislators, maybe soon. Community mental health centers often have jobs for students. Most communities have crisis hot lines, suicide hot lines, etc. These are usually staffed by volunteers. I don't know how safe it would be, but you could probably find people in need of help at homeless shelters, Salvation Army, food pantries, soup kitchens, and thrift stores. These days most of the worst cases can be found in jail as mental hospitals cannot begin to meet the need. You might find leads at the welfare office and at Catholic Charities. Thanks for caring; we really need your help and can benefit so much.

Is there a heating method more economical than another?
Is propane, electric, or heating oil more economical than any other? I ran out of heating oil today and was wondering if there was a more economical way to heat the house rather than going through 3/4 of a 275 gallon tank of oil a month at $3.20 or so a gallon. We didn't even have many days that were very cold and we kept the house at 62 degrees. The windows are covered in plastic and I don't know what else to do because we can't afford to keep heating the house...

I'm trying to research & find out what rights I & the father of my child have.....if we were to split up. I'm in Chicago. We've been together 12 years & our child is 8.....but we never married. I read on nfl.com that the Bears are saying Cutler has a sprained MCL. Now i'm not a doctor and don't know very much about sports medicine. But i've had sprains before and know how painful they are. and quit honestly I don't see how he could have been on the exercise bike for 10 minutes and then walk up and down the sidelines for the entire second half.
