Electric cars - better or worse?

In the long run better. Given time coal will be phased out for nuclear or other cleaner sources of power. One thing I don't like that's coming "down the pike" is variable rates for your electric bill to discourage people from plugging in their electric vehicle during peak power hours. This would also drive up the cost for A/C for your house in the summer and if you live in areas like Arizona you need A/C. In my case I don't.
